What to Expect
At Fox & Associates, we believe that you should have the opportunity to meet your lawyer first. That is why we offer a free half-hour consultation so that you can decide if our divorce lawyers will be a good fit for you and your case.
At your initial consultation, your divorce attorney will first review your questionnaire that you will fill out before coming in for your consultation. For your convenience, you can download a questionnaire using the links in the right column.
Next your lawyer will ask you what it is that you would like to accomplish during your consultation. For some clients, they want to be educated on the divorce process, others want to discuss strategy for their case, and others just want to tell their story and to be heard. We will do our best to help you accomplish your goals during the consultation.
Finally, we will provide you with our consultation packet that contains, among other documents, our retainer agreement, your proposed support decision, litigation fee schedule, clients do's and don'ts, and our resource list.
There is no pressure to hire your lawyer at the initial consultation. We encourage you to take your packet with you and review the materials. You may even want to have initial consultations with other divorce lawyers before you decide on the lawyer that you want representing you in your case. You are the one who knows your case best. You know your spouse better than we do (even though you may think you don't know him or her). You know the facts of your case better than we do. And you certainly know when you have the right fit with a professional who will be working for you. The lawyer-client relationship is a confidential and trusting relationship. It is important that you feel comfortable with the lawyer you choose.
